Description

Bealtaine (Beltane) is the cross-quarter day that marks the mid-point in Spring. It occurs half way between the Spring Equinox & the Summer Solstice and begins the Summer half of the year. Standing opposite Samhain (Hallowe’en) in the Wheel of the Year, it is a time when the veils between the worlds are thinnest.

Samhain is traditionally a time to welcome dead and prepare for the harshness of winter, while Beltane is a time to open ourselves up to spring, new life, sexuality and connection to the earth.

On May Eve the sexuality of life and the earth is believed to be at its peak. Abundant fertility, on all levels, is the central theme of Bealtaine. This is the night of the Greenwood Marriage, a time to loosen what binds, to freely explore, to allow passion come to the fore. Sexuality and sensuality, passion, vitality and joy… fertilization and conception are all part of Bealtaine. It is the time of handfasting, of the year-and-a-day commitment, of the sacred marriage where female and male meet as equals and when the not yet known is conceived.

Join me on May Eve to discover from deep within what it is that needs to come to life in you at this time. What needs to be unbound? What needs commitment? What ideas, hopes and dreams need to be welcomed, fertilized, conceived? What needs to be met, joined with to call forth the not yet known in you? What needs preparation, sowing so that it can be harvested later?

This is a myth and deep imagery workshop. We will share story, myth and traditions and journey into our deep inner world to meet what is waiting for us this Bealtaine. No previous experience necessary.
